Opening a dojo takes far more effort than most people realize. From choosing the site and managing the renovation to planning classes, laying out the training area, and purchasing equipment, every step demands a great deal of time and energy — and many of them have to move forward at the same time. Every dojo is different in its training style, floor conditions, and product requirements. Once we understand your main training program, we can discuss suitable mats and related equipment based on how your space will actually be used, instead of offering one fixed product package.

Floor dimensions are also essential for confirming requirements and preparing a quotation. If the training area has already been measured, send us the exact length and width. If the dojo is still under renovation, you can start with the available floor plan, a sketch, or site photos. This information helps us understand the space more clearly and confirm how much floor area the mats need to cover.

You do not need to work out how many rolls to order in advance. Based on the confirmed floor dimensions and product specifications, we will help you organize the size and quantity you need. If there are entrances, fixed structures, or areas that should stay uncovered, you can mark them on the drawing or photos so that both sides have a clear picture of the actual requirements.

Some customers already know the mat thickness they want and can tell us directly. If this is your first dojo, however, it is completely normal not to be sure yet.

You can start by telling us your main training program, how the mats will normally be used, and whether the training area will stay covered or need to be rolled up periodically. QT MAT will use this information to recommend a suitable thickness for you to confirm.

Thickness should not be decided by floor area alone, because it also depends on the specific training type and how the mats will be used. You do not have to make that decision without product knowledge. Tell us the real situation, and we will suggest an option first, then confirm the specification with you.

Once the training type, floor dimensions, mat thickness, and required quantity are confirmed, we can prepare a quotation based on your project’s specific requirements. If anything changes — for example adjusted dimensions, a different thickness, or additional equipment — we will review the details again based on the new information.

Beyond the products themselves, we also need to know when the dojo is expected to open and when the customer wants to receive the products. In your first message, you can provide the following schedule information:

• Expected opening date;
• Preferred delivery date;
• Current project stage;
• Product confirmation plan.

The expected opening date helps us understand the progress of the whole project. If the exact date has not been finalized, an approximate month or time frame is enough, so we can help organize the next steps according to whether the dojo is currently being measured, renovated, or prepared for purchasing. The preferred delivery date also needs to be confirmed early, because the opening date and the delivery date are not the same. After the mats and equipment arrive, the dojo usually still needs time for inspections, arranging the training area, and other pre-opening work.

We therefore recommend leaving enough preparation time before the official opening, and we will help confirm the overall timeline based on your product requirements and project progress. A complete delivery address is also needed for the quotation, including the country, city, postal code, and full address. If the final address has not been decided yet, you can provide the expected delivery information first and confirm it later.
